🔑 What is an Authorization Code? / 什么是授权码？

QQ Mail uses an Authorization Code (授权码) instead of your regular password for third-party app access. This is a special 16-character code that allows apps like EmailWatch to securely access your email without knowing your QQ password.

QQ邮箱使用授权码（而非您的QQ密码）来允许第三方应用访问您的邮箱。授权码是一个特殊的16位密码，允许EmailWatch等应用安全地访问您的邮件，而无需知道您的QQ密码。

Important: You must generate an Authorization Code in your QQ Mail settings. Your regular QQ password will NOT work for IMAP access.

Sign In to QQ Mail

Access your QQ Mail account via web browser

Click the button below to open QQ Mail and sign in:

Sign in with your QQ number or email address and password.

Open Account Settings

Navigate to the account settings page

Once logged in to QQ Mail:

  • Click Settings (设置) at the top of the page
  • Select Account (帐户) from the tabs
  • Scroll down to find POP3/IMAP/SMTP/Exchange/CardDAV/CalDAV Service

Enable IMAP/SMTP Service

Turn on third-party email access

In the POP3/IMAP/SMTP section:

  • Find IMAP/SMTP Service (IMAP/SMTP服务)
  • Click Enable (开启) if it's not already enabled
  • QQ Mail may ask you to verify your identity via SMS or QQ Security Center

Create your special IMAP password

After enabling IMAP service:

  • Click Generate Authorization Code (生成授权码)
  • Complete any verification required (SMS code or QQ app confirmation)
  • QQ Mail will display a 16-character authorization code

Enter the Authorization Code in EmailWatch

Complete your email setup in the app

Now open the EmailWatch app and add your QQ Mail account:

  • Go to Add Email Account in the app
  • Select QQ Mail or Other IMAP
  • Enter your QQ email address (e.g., [email protected])
  • In the password field, paste your 16-character Authorization Code (NOT your QQ password)
  • Tap Connect or Save

Frequently Asked Questions / 常见问题

Why can't I use my regular QQ password? / 为什么不能使用QQ密码？

QQ Mail requires an Authorization Code for security. This protects your main QQ account - even if the code is compromised, your QQ password remains safe.

QQ邮箱出于安全考虑要求使用授权码。这样可以保护您的QQ帐号安全——即使授权码泄露，您的QQ密码仍然是安全的，您可以随时撤销授权码。

What if I lost my Authorization Code? / 授权码丢失怎么办？

You can generate a new Authorization Code at any time in QQ Mail settings. The old code will continue to work until you revoke it.

Is this the same for Foxmail? / Foxmail邮箱也一样吗？

Yes! If you have a @foxmail.com address, the process is the same since it's part of QQ Mail.
