Connect your GMX email account to EmailWatch in just a few minutes
GMX Mail supports IMAP access, which allows EmailWatch to securely monitor your inbox for important emails. Unlike some other providers, GMX typically allows you to use your regular account password for IMAP access, but you'll need to enable IMAP in your settings first.
Important: IMAP access must be enabled in your GMX Mail settings before EmailWatch can connect to your account.

Tip: The settings location may vary slightly depending on whether you're using GMX US, GMX UK, or GMX Germany. Look for "IMAP" in the settings menu.

If you see a security warning about enabling IMAP, this is normal. IMAP access allows email apps like EmailWatch to connect to your account.

Now open the EmailWatch app and add your GMX account:

GMX operates in multiple regions. Use the domain that matches your email address: @gmx.com (US), @gmx.net (Germany), @gmx.co.uk (UK), etc. The IMAP server is typically imap.gmx.com for US accounts.
Make sure IMAP is enabled in your GMX settings (Step 3). If you recently changed your password, try signing in to GMX webmail first to verify your credentials work.
GMX offers two-factor authentication in some regions. If you have 2FA enabled, you may need to create an app-specific password in your security settings to use with EmailWatch.
Yes, IMAP is a standard protocol for accessing email. Your connection is encrypted using SSL/TLS, and EmailWatch only reads your emails to check for matches against your rules.
