🔑 What is an Authorization Code? / 什么是授权码？

NetEase Mail (188.com, 163.com, 126.com, yeah.net) uses an Authorization Code (授权码) instead of your regular password for third-party app access. This is a special password that allows apps like EmailWatch to securely access your email without knowing your login password.

网易邮箱（188.com、163.com、126.com、yeah.net）使用授权码（而非您的登录密码）来允许第三方应用访问您的邮箱。授权码是一个特殊的密码，允许EmailWatch等应用安全地访问您的邮件，而无需知道您的登录密码。

⚠️

Important: You must generate an Authorization Code in your 188.com Mail settings. Your regular login password will NOT work for IMAP access.

Open Settings

Navigate to POP3/SMTP/IMAP settings

Once logged in to 188.com Mail:

  • Click Settings (设置) at the top of the page
  • Select POP3/SMTP/IMAP from the left sidebar
  • Or look for it under Settings > Mail Services

Enable IMAP Service

Turn on third-party email access

In the POP3/SMTP/IMAP settings:

  • Find IMAP/SMTP Service (IMAP/SMTP服务)
  • Click Enable (开启) if it's not already enabled
  • NetEase may ask you to verify your identity via SMS

Create your special IMAP password

After enabling IMAP service:

  • Click Add Authorization Code (新增授权码) or Generate Authorization Code
  • Complete SMS verification if prompted
  • NetEase Mail will display your authorization code

Enter the Authorization Code in EmailWatch

Complete your email setup in the app

Now open the EmailWatch app and add your 188.com account:

  • Go to Add Email Account in the app
  • Select 188.com or Other IMAP
  • Enter your email address (e.g., [email protected])
  • In the password field, paste your Authorization Code (NOT your login password)
  • Tap Connect or Save

Make sure your phone number is correctly registered with your NetEase account. You may need to update your phone number in your account security settings first.
